Si-Ware Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Mechanical Engineering Intern for our summer internship program. The intern will work on an exciting project focused on exploring the use of silicon molding for building mechanical components. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fabrication techniques and contribute to real-world engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on silicon molding techniques and their applications in mechanical engineering.
  • Design and develop prototypes of mechanical components using silicon molding.
  • Perform experiments and tests to evaluate the performance and durability of silicon-molded parts.
  • Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports on findings.
  • Collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to integrate silicon-molded components into existing systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and refining silicon molding processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct fluid simulations using ANSYS Polyflow to simulate the plastic flow in the silicon mold.
  • Present project progress and results to the engineering team and management.

Technical skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software for designing mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with silicon molding techniques and materials.
  • Ability to conduct experimental research and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of mechanical testing methods and equipment.
  • Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping is a plus.
  • Proficiency in using ANSYS for fluid simulations and plastic flow analysis.

Job requirements


  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Completed coursework in materials engineering, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design.
  • Prior experience with CAD software (e.g., Inventor) and prototyping is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of molding techniques and materials.
  • Experience with simulation software, specifically ANSYS, for conducting fluid simulations.
